Some definitions of standard genealogical terms

English_and_cantonese_dictionaryFrom the [Geneweb] mailing list on YahooGroups, I thought it might be useful to you all.

"Sosa" - is a numbering system - for some history and an explanation see:
http://www.saintclair.org/numbers/numahn.html

"Consanguinity" - is the degree of relationship by blood - kinship/kindred - for a chart see:
http://www.heirsearch.com/table.htm

For a definition of Consanguinity see:
http://www.lectlaw.com/def/c285.htm

I'll have to post also about the d'Aboville system, and canon law regarding consanguinity.
