vpod.tv joins forces with Grupo Zero and FON to launch ChuecaWifi TV

Interesting initiative in Madrid in this week where the EuroPride events are taking place all over Europe, including this afternoon in Paris for the French Gay Pride.

The largest wifi community in the world, FON, has joined forces with Grupo Zero, the largest Spanish gay media group, to launch the Chueca Wifi initiative. The aim is to cover the whole "Chueca" area in Madrid, well known to be the gay neighborhood with high-speed internet access.

vpod.tv has joined forces with them not only to enable the creation of a live TV for the initiative, Chueca Wifi TV, but also to enable all members of the community to upload their content to be shown to the TV.

This is not the only vpod.tv and FON partner up to support wifi-enabled communities : they are partners with Silicon Sentier in Paris to cover the 2nd area of Paris with Wifi and tools in the "Quartiers Numérique" initiative.

How to twitter from Skype

"Here’s a little secret no one seems to know about (or at least before this post!). There is a Skype robot which will post to your Twitter account.Here are the simple instructions:

1. Add twitter4skype as a contact.
2. Type the following as a single chat message to twitter4skype:
   
   /account (shift+return)
   yourtwitteraccountname (shift+return)
   yourtwitteraccountpassword (shift+return)

    

3. The system should return: twitter4skype Registration complete!
4. The next time you write a chat message to twitter4skype, the entry will appear on your account and you’ll receive your friends’ twitters in Skype.

remember to backup

How many times have I told you to backup ? Yeah I know, we preach, and don't do it ourselves. That's why Apple is coming out with TimeMachine soon.

Story 1: In the meantime, a good friend of mine saw his hard disk crash the other day.  He tried a rescue by specialists at Datex. Nada! Everything lost.

Story 2: A colleague of mine broke his screen the other day. Luckily he could reboot the mac on another mac using the firewire method. Data saved.

Hence, on this nice sunday afternoon, I'm putting into practice the old saying: sweep in front of your doorsteps first.

I'm backing up my whole laptop content to an external hard disk with SuperDuper (my research online has shown me that it's probably the best choice).

You should be doing the same (you all have macs right :) ?)

Wavestorm receives medal of Paris

Wavestorm received the silver medal of Paris this week, for job creation. Congrats Alex !!!

And he got an nice review this month in Les Echos about 2 of their products : a fully wireless robot in partnership with the great Frecnh brand Meccano, and a new set of wireless frames :)
