I stayed up very late last night. Grabbed some sleep, woke up early to continue watching. Who's going to decide what happens to us in the next 4 years: W. or Kerry?
I am still amazed at the preliminary results this morning. It's going to be tough escaping 4 more years of nepotism, corruption, arrogance, criminality. Although I don't support winning elections in courts, this might be the exception for me: if Ohio can make a difference, then so be it.
What really strikes me is not why so many Americans have voted for W., because some of the reasons are obvious:
- die-hard republicans: no way they are going to vote democrat
- fear: W. and the neocons have made an excellent job at creating this "terror" feeling and insecurity in the country. Everyone is still very much concerned about an Osama - The Sequel
- doubt: gazillions of ads on air have tried to show Kerry as a weak leader in times of "war" (self-denominated myth)
But hello ? anybody home ?
- 3 years down the road, and Osama is still very much running around the world ?
- Saddam is out, but had nothing to do with 9/11, and young americans have died in Iraq! More civilians even have died there.
- the US economy is worse than ever, with over 450b$ in deficit ?
Doesn't this at least hint that W. is not a proper leader, doesn't know how to tackle the real issues, and above all is corrupt and a liar ?
Anyways... I'm glad I don't live there, to listen to all that neocon propaganda on Fox. In the meantime, Joi and Ross hint that you can vote on your blog (it won't count though) and that Technorati is counting the votes.
So I support Kerry, and furiously do oppose W.
