Some of you may have been lucky to see me sport my new bright Orange corderoy trousers ;) I also have them in shiny yellow. Ok... not the latest fashion in business surroundings, but this pix in the Paris metro does show I'm not completely off...
Gilles is one of those guys who always puts a smile on your face. He's also the founder and chairman of Musiwave, the digital music company for mobiles in Europe. He launched a streaming radio service for mobiles this week in Cannes.
Patrick is the founder & former CEO of amen.fr, one of France's largest hosting companies (that's where I host my sepulveda.net domain name ;). He sold his company to the Dutch VNU networks last year. He's here hunting for some new ideas... It's been a while since we saw each other, at a dinner with Marc Canter in Paris I believe.
Another bunch of buddies showed up there in Cannes: here's almost the whole crowd in charge of mobility at AOL France: Thomas Volpi in charge of bizdev, Julien Salanon in charge of strategic alliances, and Hubertus von Roenne, pan-European manager of the team.
Great surprise and joy to bump into Anthony Zappala, M&A manager at micro-electronics founder STMicroelectronics. He's an INSEAD graduate, and a classmate from my year ;)
I've mentionned Pierre already in a few posts. He is THE specialist on telecoms in Japan, where he lives with his lovely wife. He toured me in Tokyo with the elite mobile companies in Japan, and I was happy to share lunch with him again.
Another Insead buddy in the trainhis morning ! Olivier used to be with Freemarkets, a company that was acquired by Ariba this summer. They operate in the electronic makretplaces and bid services space.
The world is really small. I bumped into Christophe - a buddy from INSEAD - thi s morning at the airport, slightly after 6am. I was on my way to Hamburg, he was on his way to Düseeldorf. He works in specialty chemicals with Rohm+Haas.
I bumped into Michaël today in La Défense. He is one of the best IT Professionals I know, and a web services expert (check his columns on the Journal du Net). He is a graduate of EPITA computer engineering school (like me), of IAE de Paris business school (like me) where we sit together at the Board of the Alumni Association (you can recognise me on the left with the blue shirt on the pix).
Michael is currently a successful manager with BearingPoint in France.
