Researching my trip in a couple of weeks...
(BTW, I'm surprised I can't find a feature to blog directly from within youtube. is that normal ?)
I'm sitting in a funky café this morning that mixes Pierre Cardin futuristic style, spanish taste (jamons are hanging on the wall), and old Parisian elements of decoration.
I thought I'd share 2 pix of this rather unusual place.
Waiting for Stéphane Zibi, before we go together to the Summer University of the MEDEF (the french CEO association / union).
Vinivi.com is a new service, launched by my friend Gilles Granger from Mauritius.
His direct competition is probably tripadvisor.
Gilles has given a little twist to his service : users can submit multimedia reviews including pictures and videos. For him, I have been filming some of the hotels I've been staying in for the past 12 months. Here's a selection from Shanghai, Torino, Helsinki, Monaco, Brussels, Münich.
You can submit your own videos and pictures at http://www.vinivi.com.
amusing graphic today... My Dopplr profile is here.
I joined the DLD08 tour at the Deutsches Museum, Germany's largest technology museum, for a 2-hour trip through history.
Waow. Engineers in those days really were inventing stuff, and optimizing processes for energy, efficiency, locomotion, and breaking ground with steam engines, cars, planes, space engines. So much more inventive than today's "innovation" on the net (yeah... OK : memcache, bigtable are great advancements...)
Really worth a visit. Or go to London's Science Museum, another one of my favourite museums.
this must be my all-time record in the last 10 years? At least for sure for 2007. No internet access, no mobile phone since last friday (last year) at 6pm, Paris time. Just back online today, around noon this wednesday.
I'm still here for a couple of days, but will be reconnecting slowly....
