A lot coming up on mobuzztv! And their new homepage is so web2.0-ish. Hopefully the content is not youtubish (private joke :-p)
We were both invited on Cédric Ingrand's show 'plein écran' on the French news channel LCI for a 2*15 min show to talk about user generated content and monetization. Oleg Tscheltzoff, founder of CitizenBay was also there, along with Virginie Robert, the famous high-tech journalist from Les Echos Innovation. The show will air on september 30th, and will be available as a podcast. Track the news here: http://blog-high-tech.lci.fr/
Jean-Michel Billaut, host of the now almost legendary French show "the BillautShow" came by our offices on Friday. That turned into a long conversation in front of the webcam of my macbook pro (25 min...) where we discussed about the online video industry, competition, venture capital, P2P, reaction from TV networks, B2B, und so weiter...
He posted the original show here, and there is some discussion going on there as well.
A couple of weeks ago, Ivan and I went to the Montparnasse area in Paris to meet with the team of gaspanik.tv: David, Fred et Julien.
They've built their own studio, where just by changing angles, and moving the furniture around, they create a number of new shows that they stream live on the web everyday. Indeed, they've discovered that editing online content is tiresome, and that live stuff is more fun.
In the backstage is Julien who is a jack-of-all-trades: he's coded all the tools in house (they started only 3 months ago, talk about barriers to entry in this market), and does all the real-time production, as well as coding a few games. David is the guy who hosts the shows every night (the "CEO"), and Fred hosts or co-hosts a number of different shows.
Ivan and I "hijacked" the show for one hour one night, and talked a lot about entrepreneurship, about how to create your own company, etc. Unfortunately, David said that he there was a break-in during the night, and the burglars took a lot of equipment away, including the hard disk with the show. So it never went public. As usual, I always carry my phone, and interviewed David live during his show. This is the only segment left from the show :(
Just before the 19h show, there was a 30 min show on games, hosted by Fred. Here's the backstage:
Finally, if you are interested in working with gaspanik.tv's technology, I'm afraid he's signed an exclusive deal with someone on the market already (not us :).
I had a great chat with Aymeril in his offices in Silicon Valley last week. He tells us what the French Trade Office does there, how he helps French corporations reach out into the valley, and a few other tricks. Enjoy !
At the Techcrunch party, I had a nice chat with Céline Lacombe, product manager at Orange R&D in San Francisco: she talks about the product they developped in the lab, to show how you could build a better flickr. For instance it has a tight integration with maps.

Update: by the way, Gabe took a picture of me while I was shooting the interview. And the original Billaut interview we were talking about is here.
I mentionned a while ago that I use a number of sites to check for the cheapest online fares for travel; Mobissimo is one of them, and on Friday, I had a lovely lunch with Beatrice Tarka, founder & CEO of the company. She tells you about her company, her investors, her market, and her new product in this video. Enjoy.
Yesterday, at DIgitalHollywood.
