And another social network / presence / micro blogging client : Jaiku that aims to compete with Twitter.
Actually its design is slicker, and has an extra twist that you might like: it aggregates all of your identities on the web from Flickr, del.icio.us, Plazes, your blog, etc. and redigests it to present in a single page everything you are trying to say everywhere.
somehow a mix of twitter + feedburner + ziki ?
Here's my Jaiku page : http://rsepulveda.jaiku.com/
bugs: this afternoon, no way to add by hand an RSS feed for del.icio.us and Plazes, as it tries to detect the feeds automatically. I'm sure it'll get fixed.
ps: if you think I'm going crazy with all these services, I wrote about the need for an ID 2.0 2 years ago i
a. "What are you doing?" : reminds me of something else :) Twitter !
Here's my Plazes profile.
By the way, reviewing the site again just now:
1) the URL for my page should have my name in it, not just numbers
2) invite friends needs a major update : use email contact lists like Jaiku for example
b. but it also now has features that remind me of Dopplr ! (future events!)
Just got my invite through leafar (thanks !). First impressions:
1) nice integration of CSS and design : very slick
2) not enough templates to choose from (only 4)
3) no integration with Flickr (to go and select a picture of me automatically as other services do)
4) pay 20 USD ? no way these days...
5) how do I find my friends ? no integration with contact lists in gmail, hotmail, Yahoo!mail, etc. as other service do - an import from Twitter or Jaiku, would be great ! (currently I'm seeing friends on Twittter4Skype...)
6) only 1 pix to choose from : more fun if I could choose more and play them randomly or according to the mood of the day
7) downloadable app : too geeky, whereas the rest of the site is very mainstream
8) amused that most guys select "gentleman" instead of male
9) I don't like the list of friends by "name. initial of last name". I'd rather have them use the full names or handles
10) no search for friends by tags, places, etc.
11) the added feature of posting a link ? I prefer Twitter's automatic linking feature. Event, why not. sending file is a good idea.
12) and I already got it :) :
13) the feature : check friends of friends is nice
(via here and mihaic on Twitter)
"Here’s a little secret no one seems to know about (or at least before this post!). There is a Skype robot which will post to your Twitter account. Here are the simple instructions:
- Add twitter4skype as a contact.
- Type the following as a single chat message to twitter4skype:
/account (shift+return)
yourtwitteraccountname (shift+return)
yourtwitteraccountpassword (shift+return)
- The system should return: twitter4skype Registration complete!
- The next time you write a chat message to twitter4skype, the entry will appear on your account and you’ll receive your friends’ twitters in Skype.
That’s it. Enjoy!"
Great video, used here to create virality, and customer adoption. It's simple, elegantly made to look homemade, with structure, wit, and novelty. Well done.
My guess a lot of people are going to try something similar now. Too bad for them this one was released first :)

I’ve known Pascal for ever, and the insiders have known about the deal for a while, led by Techfund and Sophia Eurolab. Here’s a quick video taped in Brussels earlier this year at a Microsoft event.
The press release should show up here soon.

Just inserted my flat-rate data SIM card from Orange 3G into the phone and am configuring it:

Just found this little tool from Eqo that allows you to get SkypeIM on your phone, and even Skype voIP (?) on your phone ?
Too bad the registration process is a bit cumbersome (they ask a lot of details, send you 2 SMS + wap links)… and I couldn’t get it to work on my Nokia N70. My Nokia N90 (that has my unlimited 3G data plan) is not yet supported. Had anyone managed to get it to work ?
(I actually also have the same problem with Wayfnder, the GPS package: it can’t find my internt link.. although the browser finds it with no problem ???).
